In home photography is an art form. The privilege of being invited into someones home, their sacred space is never lost on me. So much of our lives happen within the walls of our home, it is where we are most intimate and relaxed with our family. It's our most precious acquisition, it's where babies are birthed or brought home, It's where teeth are lost and birthday candles are blown out, it's where beds and meals are shared, its where notches of children growing are marked up on door frames. Above all its safety, its sanctuary, its family - its love.
This workshop is for those of you that may feel a little lost on your creative journey or for those of you that want to take in home sessions to the next level.
Through finding connection to your own unique voice I will help you to channel your own story into your art and perspective. Weaving yourself into the fabric of your sessions to create a body of work you and your clients will be inspired by.
- Facing your fear of shooting at an unknown location.
- Creating work that aligns with your heart and values.
- How to create images that depict emotional, familial connection with a documentary feel and outcome.
- Finding the beauty within each family and each season that family may be in.
- Learn how to use a variety of lighting situations to maximise productivity and enhance your art.
- Learn how to approach sessions to allow them to flow naturally allowing stories and connection to occur and unfold without pressure on you or your client.
- What to do if you are feeling stuck in your style and how to break free from limiting thoughts.
- Setting client expectation prior to the session.
- Connecting to your own voice and creating a tool kit of skills to confidently approach sessions.
- Letting inspiration guide you.
- Watching me, participating and being fully engaged in my process of shooting a family session at home.
- How to stand out and be unique in a sea of others and how to overcome creative confusion.
- Make the kind of photos that make you and your clients have an emotional response.

A mama and an artist.
I live in Scarborough with my gorgeous teen(angel) where we have moved around a lot of times before I finally bought us our own home in 2021.
Having moved around a lot as a kid and not feeling truly settled until way into adulthood has given me an appreciation for home that I never truly knew could exist until I had the freedom to live and do whatever I wanted in my own space.
I love rituals of home. They can be so so simple like making a pot of tea in the morning to lighting the home with yellow lamp globes. I have also discovered things about myself like how much I enjoy gardening, something I never knew until I had my own space.
This has what has inevitably led me to lean into my appreciation and love of home and families within their homes. It's just so special. That is why I want to pass along all that I know and love about in home sessions so all of the clients that see themselves in YOUR art will be able to have art that truly shows the love that lives within their walls - to hang on their walls!
